You (probably) have questions about how wedding photos work. I (hopefully) have answers!
Most clients do a three payment plan with 25% of your package due upon signing (this acts as your security deposit). The second payment is for 50% and the final 25% is due one month before the wedding day or at your preplanning meeting.
We can accept payment via check, Venmo, PayPal, or cash. After the 25% downpayment mentioned about, you can contact us to discuss a custom payment plan to distribute the remaining payments on a schedule.
As soon as you have your date! If the date is available, it's yours!
Your completed high resolution wedding images will be available on a personal, password-protected photo hosting site about 6 weeks after your wedding. All of our wedding packages also include the files from your wedding delivered on USB flash drive, sent via USPS with a week of the digital delivery.
Believe it or not, more than half of our couples we work with tell us they're not photogenic before they step in front of our cameras. Once they see their photos, however, they're relieved to discover that they were wrong! We firmly believe that everyone is beautiful in the expression of their love and has the inherent ability to be photogenic, especially when they're standing next to the person they intend to marry.
Unfortunately, most people first started to think they're "not photogenic" because of awkward high school photos or low-quality snapshots from family parties. When we take your picture, we have a constant eye out for the best lighting, capturing your best angles and - most of importantly - letting the natural connection you have as a couple shine through in every shot. We want you to look at your wedding and engagement pictures and say, “These are so us”. We take time to get to know you, to discover the ways you make each other smile and draw from that so that you not only look fantastic in photos, but you also have a great time while they're being taken.
Yes, we will. We feel strongly that family photos are important to capture. We recommend taking family photos either shortly before or shortly after your ceremony.
We generally shoot everything in color. We then select images at our discretion to turn into black and white. Any image that we do turn into black and white, we include the color equivalent.
We want to make sure your day flows smoothly so that you have plenty of time to get amazing photos AND still get to enjoy your day. We create custom schedules for all of our couples, detailing what time you should start hair and make-up all the way to what time you should cut your cake (working alongside your wedding planner and/or venue or caterer, of course).
We suggest that all couples create a list of family/group shots, since you would know best which friends and family groupings you would like. If you're not sure what that list would be, we suggest doing group shots with your immediate family (including grandparents) and any other special aunts/uncles/cousins. We recommend taking those photos shortly after the ceremony (or before if you're doing a first look). Other than group photos, we urge you to trust us to use our unique style to capture your day as it unfolds. Of course, if you have any special traditions or unusual touches that you would like us to capture, definitely let us know.
We dress formally but comfortably in unobtrusive colors so we blend into a crowd.
Yes, we do. We can provide proof of insurance to your venue. Just provide us with a good email address for them.
We use professional digital cameras from Sony and bring extra equipment (and backup memory cards!) to every wedding.
We have a wide-ranging network of photographers that we can contact to fill in for us in the case of an unforeseen emergency.
Absolutely! We always cover our weddings from multiple perspectives using two photographers. There's simply too much going on for one person to do it alone.
You will receive all usable images, which means every photo that's in focus, is properly exposed, and where the subject has been faithfully captured.
There are so many great reasons to do a "first look", but the main ones are: it calms nerves, you have a special private moment with your partner beforehand, you receive up to 40% more portraits of the two of you, you will be able to enjoy cocktail hour with your guests, more time for family and wedding party portraits, and "golden hour" portraits in beautiful sunset light after your ceremony.
